Rocchetta Mattei: Discovering an enchanted castle
Rocchetta Mattei is a castle built by the Count Cesare Mattei on the ruins of an ancient medieval fortress, at the end of the XIX century; it’s a small jewel located in the Apennines between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, which has been recently restored and opened to visitors.
The fusion of different architectural styles, such as the Medieval Gothic and the Moorish style, makes the Rocchetta an incredible and fantastic place, with its many different rooms expertly decorated and linked by a labyrinthine plan of lodges, spiral staircases and towers.
